Client Query - Pay opening balances when integrated with Xero

Question/Problem 

Existing company opening balance does not allocate to customer after payment taken in Xero.

Resolution/Solution 

This process assumes that you are already integrated with Xero before beginning.

Steps â€‹

  1. Disable the Xero integration.
    1. Go to [System Setup | System Values | Accounts].
    2. Click Edit.
    3. Switch off the 'Xero Integration' toggle and click Save Screen.
  2. Go to the Company Record and select the STATEMENT tab.
  3. Click Actions followed by New Payment.
    1. In the pop up dialog box populate the details of the payment,
  4. In the 'Allocate From' grid, green select the payment you have just entered.
  5. In the 'Allocate To' grid select the opening balance invoice.
  6. Click Actions followed by 'Allocate Payment(s) / Credit(s) to Invoice(s)'.
  7. Re-Enable the Xero integration.
    1. Go to [System Setup | System Values | Accounts].
    2. Click Edit.
    3. Switch on the 'Xero Integration' toggle and click Save Screen.
