Client Query - Pay opening balances when integrated with Xero
Question/Problem
Existing company opening balance does not allocate to customer after payment taken in Xero.
Resolution/Solution
This process assumes that you are already integrated with Xero before beginning.
Steps ​
- Disable the Xero integration.
- Go to [System Setup | System Values | Accounts].
- Click Edit.
- Switch off the 'Xero Integration' toggle and click Save Screen.
- Go to the Company Record and select the STATEMENT tab.
- Click Actions followed by New Payment.
- In the pop up dialog box populate the details of the payment,
- In the 'Allocate From' grid, green select the payment you have just entered.
- In the 'Allocate To' grid select the opening balance invoice.
- Click Actions followed by 'Allocate Payment(s) / Credit(s) to Invoice(s)'.
- Re-Enable the Xero integration.
- Go to [System Setup | System Values | Accounts].
- Click Edit.
- Switch on the 'Xero Integration' toggle and click Save Screen.
