Client Query - Data Import - 'Imported 0, Errors 0'


At the end of a large data import my system reports it has imported zero lines and has zero errors. What does this mean?


This is usually due to a timing issue between the server performing the import and the web browser status display timing out. Generally speaking, you will find the import has been successful however it is worth checking a random selection of rows from your import file to confirm if they have been updated / created.


To minimise the likelihood of errors occurring you should follow the guidance below:
  1. Keep data import files to 3000 rows or less.
  2. If you are not using certain columns on your import file, remove them.
  3. Keep blank cells to a minimum.
  4. Remove unnecessary rows of data if not being updated or initially imported.
