Client Query - Uploading stock levels to a channel if there is more than a certain quantity of that stock item available

Question/Problem

Is there a way to set a stock item profile to only upload a stock level to a channel if there is more than a certain quantity of that stock item available?

Resolution/Solution

Yes the system can do this.

Steps

  1. Open the channel in KCC and click Edit.
  2. Select the Stock tab.
  3. Scroll down to the profiles grid and click +New.
  4. In the new row, copy whichever profile your stock items are using already (if you have more than 1 you may need to replicate each profile).
    1. In the description name is something easily identifiable.
    2. Set the cut off level to the figure you want 'hold back'. The system will report the item as out of stock should your available stock level go below this figure.
  5. Click Save Channel.
  6. Close the channel by clicking the red X at the top right hand side.
  7. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
  8. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen to the Stock item grid.
  9. Click +New and select the items to use the new profile.
  10. In the stock item grid, select the profile created in step 4.
    1. If there are lots of items affected, green select them all and click the profile box of ANY selected row (should turn blue).
    2. Click the purple cog icon at the top of the grid and select Apply Value Range.
    3. In the popup, select the profile to be used and click OK.
  11. Click Save Channel.

Notes/Caveats

For the changes to take effect you will need to update the stock items, which can be done in a group:
  1. Go to the [Stock Item] list.
  2. Green select every item.
  3. Click the orange Grid Actions button and select Mark Stock Items as Changed.
