Client Query - Bulk Updates to Price Lists

Problem/Question

How do we make bulk updates to our price lists, and change the "List Price" in the Promotions tab?

Solution

You can do this using either of the following methods:

Price List Imports
Using Price List Imports the steps are:
  1. Create the Price List in [System Setup | System Data | Price Lists], see Setting up Price Lists.  
    1. The name must match the name of the Price List to be imported.
    2. If the Price List already exists, this step is not required. You could export the grid with the current prices on in a Price List to update them, see How can I export information in a KCC screen?
  2. Create a spreadsheet with two columns: STOCK_CODE (Column A), and name of your price list as written in System Data (in column B).
  3. If you wish to update multiple Price Lists at the same time, you can add these as additional columns. In the example below Amazon and Retail are two different price lists.
  4. Populate the import file with the stock code of each item you wish to update and the price it is on the price list stated at the top of column.

Example: IMPORT PRICE LIST using price list names Amazon and Retail:
    A                             B              C
1 STOCK_CODE Amazon Retail
2 1976                 1.15 1.09
3 1977                 1.05 0.85

Reminder: It is important when importing files to KCC that they are in a tab separated text file. Most current spreadsheet software packages have an option to save as text (tab delimited), or you can copy and paste into Notepad.

In the Promotions Tab
  1. Open any price list with the products listed on them from the [Promotions | Customer Price List] screen.
  2. Click edit.
  3. Enable the 'Allow Editing of List Price' toggle.
  4. You will then be able to edit the list price of the item as well as the Price List price. 
  5. Click Save when complete.
